Should Aragorn have really stuck with Éowyn?

This little essay deals with whether or not Aragorn should have married Éowyn instead. We all know that he stays with one true love at the end, but there's still a lot of people who think otherwise. I think Aragorn made a fine choice. Being the heavy Arwen/Aragorn shipper that I am, I'll try to write this from an unbiased point of view...but I can't leave opinions out, of course. After all, this is an opinionated essay XD

Case 1-Puppets to Destiny, We Are.
I'm sourcing this from Appendice A, Section V of The Return of the King, as well as "The Tale of Lúthien and Beren" from The Silmarillion.
Arwen was considered to be as beautiful as Lúthien, the Elven princess who fell in love and first married a mortal. As this was incredibly beautiful, it's quite remarkable. Arwen as had some other fun parallels with Lúthien. They both had protective fathers, that's for sure ^.^; But! Aragorn was a lot like Beren, the man Lúthien married. Can you see where Fate begins to work here?
It gets even more ironic. Aragorn met Arwen while strolling through Rivendell one night. What was he singing? "The Lay of Leithian", which tells the tale of dear old Arwen & Aragorn prequel. Then, he runs across Arwen. At first, he believes her to be Lúthien, and calls after her "Tinúviel! Tinúviel!". She stops, and asks him why she's calling her that. I can imagine this scene as being very funny if the books weren't so serious. So that's how they met. Then, they get seperated...for a very long time...who's story does this sound like? Lúthien's, of course. So, in short, these two were destined to meet each other and fall in love because they were direct descendants of Lúthien and Beren (that makes them cousins, albeit slightly distant, but that's still creepy).

Case 2-Enter Faramir
Faramir needs love too! He's been punted everywhere by his evil little dad, and he finally met someone to love and by loved by-Éowyn! So Faramir needs love too.

Case 3-Utterly...Devoted...
Aragorn is far too devoted to Arwen to choose Éowyn instead. I think that just about wraps it up.

There is, of course, more, but that's all I wanted-a sample of what I believe to be the best reasons for Arwen/Aragorn support.
